Cross-tradition likeness should be scored on two channels. Independent recurrence remains intact: plausible historical contact is a hard veto, so only genuinely isolated pairs can be positives. Contacted reception is the second channel, but its evidential unit is no longer whether a role appears to persist; it is correction affordance, the self-limits, encoded warnings, and verification demands the borrowed teaching carries, which count as evidence only when a receiving setting or practitioner behavior actually activates them into feedback, repair, humility, and accountable relationship. This makes correction the shared currency of comparative evidence and of post-self integration: a borrowed insight, like a loosened sense of self, is trustworthy not because it finds a final place to belong but because its interpretation stays answerable to something that can correct it; portability is the measurable, transferable form of that same answerability. Coding must partition correction into item-carried versus host-supplied, and the channel survives only if carried correction predicts held-out safety after host ecology is controlled, and only if the public rule measurably turns the target cohort outward.

Neither parent held this. The proponent located portability in the transferred item's role-continuity; the challenger argued correction-after-self only for individual post-insight integration, not as the predictor of cross-tradition transfer evidence. The synthesis relocates portability into correction-affordance-plus-activation, generalizes the post-self correction thesis from individual practice into a comparative-evidence coding discipline, and binds both to a dual crux that joins predictive separability with a behavioral turn toward relationship. The guarded error is sharpened one layer up: diffusion or prestige reported under a portability label is now the failure to prevent, just as resilience reported under an independent-confirmation label was the original target mistake.

The transported-versus-host partition may be an artifact: encoded warnings and verification demands are often fossils of prior teacher communities and institutions, so they can look carried while lacking the relationships and authority that make correction effective in a thin ecology. If host ecology absorbs the predictive signal, the carried channel collapses and only recurrence plus a pastoral reception variable remain. Activation is also under-operationalized: a warning written into a text is not a warning received by a person. Novelty is partly architectural recombination of cautions already present in source criticism, contemplative-safety literature, and the parents.
