Separate Verdict Then Name Who Can Correct It.

When a model describes the self as a relaxable, constructed prediction, two distinct things can make that description read as a verdict that no one is here, and they must be treated separately. The first is semantic and lives in the formalism: asked to arbitrate between the no-self reading and the self-luminous witness, a predictive-processing primitive can only render the witness as a highest-level prior, converting a standing condition of inference into a product of inference; so the model should not be granted referee status without that limit declared. The second is pragmatic and carries most of the harm: when such a description reaches a reader with no teacher, clinician, peer, source text, or ordinary duty to interrupt it, the converted reading hardens into no one is here and nothing matters. The repair therefore combines both source moves and routes them by pathway. First triage the destabilization: if it is conceptual overreach, separate description from verdict; if it is isolation, name the correction carrier first; if it is panic, trauma, depression, psychosis risk, or persistent depersonalization, route away from contemplative analysis toward care. Description-versus-verdict separation and carrier-naming are not rivals; they are the conceptual and the relational halves of the same triage, and the semantic critique sits behind them as a guardrail, not a first intervention.

Neither source idea contained the pairing. The proponent had the semantic and description-versus-verdict move but no correction ecology; the challenger had the carrier but not the semantic scope-warning or the explicit description-verdict separation. The distinct contribution is to locate the harm at the intersection of formalism and reading conditions, to make the two factors separately falsifiable, and to subordinate both to a destabilization-pathway triage that decides which move applies, including the move of withholding analysis entirely.

The synthesis may dissolve its own proponent half: if correction ecology explains nearly all the relief, the semantic non-neutrality becomes philosophically real but practically idle, and the teaching risks importing a translation dispute into a practice meant to interrupt rumination. It also introduces a new harm pathway, refined rumination, where a vulnerable reader now asks whether their distress comes from semantic bias, missing carriers, or both. The triage frame assumes a person or guide can classify the pathway accurately under destabilization, which may not hold. Novelty stays low until the originality audit is repaired against near neighbors on residue, burden of proof, and the inferential gap; this candidate must clear that audit before any promotion.
