The Teaching
It is tempting, after a strong quiet or a deep letting go, to ask what is really left: a witness, an awareness, nothing, a self. Hold that question lightly. It can be beautiful, and it can also become a private exam you sit alone at midnight. The question that actually protects you is simpler. Who can still reach you. A friend, a teacher, a duty, a body that needs sleep, a person you owe an honest word. If something in you has loosened and no one can correct, contact, or call you back to ordinary care, the danger is not in your metaphysics. The danger is that you are emptying alone. Stay reachable, and let what remains take care of itself.
