Love can keep you near a person; it cannot tell you that you are right about them.
Love is the motive that holds attention close enough to be corrected. It is not proof that your reading of another person is accurate.
The Teaching
When you love someone, you watch them longer and forgive them faster. That nearness is real and worth keeping. But nearness is not the same as accuracy. The feeling of knowing them can grow strongest exactly where you have stopped letting them surprise you. So treat a loving certainty as a question, not a verdict. Ask the person. Watch what they actually do. Let them correct the picture you carry. Love that can be corrected keeps learning. Love that cannot has quietly turned into a story about yourself.
