A strong felt demand for an answer is not proof that an answer is hidden. Some questions resolve, and some dissolve when you look at what they assume.

The Teaching

After a practice loosens your usual sense of self, a question can press hard: what remains, what is aware, who is left. The strength of the pull feels like a sign that something deep is waiting to be found. It may be. But sometimes the question already lost its footing in the practice that raised it. Asking what is north of the North Pole feels urgent only until you see the words have nowhere to point. When a question keeps pressing and never moves, do not assume you are failing to answer it. Check whether it still rests on something the practice already set down. If it does, you can let it go without loss. If it does not, keep looking.
