Before you begin

Duration 6 minutes, plus a 24-hour delay on identity claims.
Frequency Only after a notably quiet, open, or self-loosening state, or after stopping a scroll when attention feels exposed; no more than twice per week.

Stable adults who meditate, pray, self-inquire, use meditation apps, or return from mild retreat experiences and tend to make quiet into proof of worth, failure, progress, or specialness.

When this may not fit

Not for acute crisis, suicidal thoughts, psychosis, mania, dissociation, depersonalization, derealization, addiction withdrawal, fresh trauma activation, severe depression, OCD or scrupulosity loops, unsafe teachers, coercive groups, or frightening states that need grounding, sleep, food, medical care, therapy, emergency care, or trusted human contact.

Steps

  1. Name the event in one plain sentence without doctrine: quiet, openness, blankness, relief, fear, ease, or no clear memory.
  2. Write the claim you feel pulled toward: I am awakened, I failed, I disappeared, I found the Self, I have no self, I need this teacher, I should post this, or I am not sure.
  3. Write one support that can still reach you: a person, text, teacher, clinician, duty, meal, sleep, apology, message, walk, or time.
  4. For 24 hours, make no identity verdict from the state.
  5. Do one ordinary act of care or contact before further interpretation.
  6. If the meaning still matters after 24 hours, bring it to the support you named or compare it with your conduct over the next few days.

  • Whether ordinary care becomes easier or harder after delaying the verdict.
  • Whether you become more reachable by people and duties or more sealed off.
  • Whether the practice becomes another thing to grade or perform.
