A practice should be interpreted through the question it actually authorizes. A question imported from another path can rebuild the self-measuring distance the practice was loosening.
The Teaching
After practice, a question may rise: what did I get, what remains, how far have I come? Do not answer too quickly. First ask whether the practice itself gave you that question. Some practices ask for a result. Some ask for conduct. Some ask you to stop claiming anything from the moment. Use the question that belongs to the practice and to the wound in front of you. A question that does not belong can rebuild the anxious self it was meant to quiet.

Stable solo practitioners using Question Source Check should report less post-practice rumination and self-grading than those using a result-inventory journal, without lower contact, conduct, disclosure, or help-seeking. If the result-inventory group does as well without harm, the practice weakens.
