A self-loosening practice should not be judged by an imagined inner after unless the practice itself authorizes that kind of review.

If the practice asks you to examine, examine carefully. If it asks you to return to a person, duty, form, promise, rest, or ordinary care, return there. Do not grade yourself for an after the practice did not give you. This matters because a clever person can turn even surrender into a performance review.
